Bank statement converter

Convert a bank statement PDF to Excel or CSV

Upload the PDF your bank gave you and get every transaction back as a spreadsheet, with each row checked against the balances printed on the statement. Excel, CSV, OFX and QBO. No subscription: you pay per statement.

One free conversion for new accounts. The preview is always free.

Example with made-up figures: every running balance ticks off.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Upload your statement

Drop in up to 15 PDFs at once (up to 40 MB each), or photos and screenshots of a statement. A password-protected PDF asks for its password.

  2. Step 2

    Check the free preview

See the first rows of the table and a balance result for every page before you spend anything.

  3. Step 3

    Convert, your first is free

Your first conversion on a new account uses no credits. After that a conversion costs credits.

  4. Step 4

    Download your file

Excel (XLSX), CSV, OFX or QBO, plus a conversion certificate. Several statements can be merged into one sheet in date order.

What you get

  • Rows you can check

Opening balance plus every transaction must reach each running balance the bank printed, and the closing balance. Rows that don't tie out are marked red, never passed silently.

  • The same columns for every bank

Date, description (wrapped lines joined), debit, credit, signed amount, balance and the source page, so one formula works on every statement.

  • Formats for your tools

Excel and CSV for spreadsheets. OFX and QBO for accounting software; they refuse to export rather than guess when a date or amount is missing.

  • Deleted after 24 hours

Uploaded statements and the files made from them are deleted automatically 24 hours after upload. Scanned pages are read on our own servers; no third-party OCR service sees your file.

Pricing: credits, no subscription

A conversion costs one credit per started block of 10 text pages and one credit per scanned page or photo. A 3-page PDF statement costs one credit; a 14-page one costs two. Your first conversion on a new account is free. Pages that fail the balance check are not charged, and re-downloading a statement you already converted is free.

Which banks and which files

There is no list of supported banks, and we will not invent one. The converter reads the table layout of the statement itself, so it works with most banks that issue text-based PDF statements. Whether yours was read correctly is answered page by page by the balance check, not by a promise on this page.

Best results come from the original PDF downloaded from your online banking. Scanned PDFs and photos or screenshots (PNG, JPG or WebP, up to 30 pages) are read by OCR and labelled as such; OCR misreads characters more often than a text PDF does, which is what the balance check catches. A statement that prints no running balance can still be converted, but its rows are marked unverified.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a bank statement PDF to Excel?

Download the original PDF from your online banking, sign in to Signavos and open Statements, upload the file, check the free preview, then convert and download the Excel (XLSX) or CSV file. The original download works best because it contains real text rather than a picture of text.

Is the bank statement converter really free?

Your first conversion on a new account is free: the whole statement, every format, with the same balance check as a paid one. Accounts that already bought credits, and accounts signed up with a disposable email address, do not get it. After that it is pay-per-use credits, with no subscription. The preview is always free.

Which banks does it work with?

It reads the statement's table layout instead of using a fixed template per bank, so it works with most banks that issue text-based PDF statements. We do not publish a list of supported banks. The balance check tells you, page by page, whether a particular statement was read correctly.

How do I know the converted numbers are right?

Every conversion is checked against the statement's own numbers: opening balance plus every transaction must equal each running balance the bank printed, and the closing balance. A page that disagrees is marked and not charged. If a statement prints no balances, its rows are marked unverified, so spot-check those against the PDF.

Are my bank statements stored?

No longer than 24 hours. Uploaded statements and the files made from them are deleted automatically, and you can delete a conversion yourself before then.

Can I convert a scanned statement or a photo?

Yes. Scanned PDFs, and photos or screenshots in PNG, JPG or WebP (up to 30 pictures at once, 20 MB each), are read by OCR on our own servers. Rows read by OCR are labelled so you know which to check. iPhone HEIC photos are not supported yet: save or share the photo as JPG first.

Do I need a subscription?

No. Conversions use pay-as-you-go credits, the same wallet as e-signatures: one credit per started block of 10 text pages and one credit per scanned page or photo. Credits are valid for 12 months.
